Important Health Information Regarding 2019 Novel Coronavirus

Jan 27, 2020 1:15 PM

Dear FSU community,

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring an outbreak caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (“2019-nCoV”) first identified in Wuhan City, 湖北省, 中国. The CDC is closely monitoring the situation and is working with the World Health Organization (WHO). It is important to know that based on current information, the immediate health risk from 2019-nCoV to the general American public is deemed to be low at this time.

Individuals visiting the Brady Health Center are screened during their appointment for recent international travel. Those who have traveled from 中国 to the United States are being asked questions about their health and travel history. We advise you to seek medical care and alert a healthcare provider if you have traveled to Wuhan City within the past 14 days and are experiencing a fever with or without respiratory symptoms.

Brady Health is following the CDC guidelines and working with the Allegany County Health Department in monitoring this situation.
